Yeshua was born into a Jewish household in a Jewish community. As a boy in Nazareth, He attended a Jewish synagogue where He memorized the Jewish Scriptures. “Growing in wisdom and stature and in favor with both God and man,” He never journeyed outside of the land promised to the Jewish patriarchs. He was baptized by the last of the Old Testament Jewish prophets. His earthly ministry was spent among Jewish people. He was crucified, buried, and then rose again to provide proof of His redemptive power to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
Now, we must tell His story. Dr. Arnold G. Fruchtenbaum's entire ministry has been devoted to exploring and explaining the Life of Messiah from a Jewish Perspective to both Jews and Gentiles that have placed their faith in our Jewish Messiah. The Life of Messiah from a Jewish Perspective portrays Yeshua in His proper Jewish context as the long awaited King of the Jews and Savior of the world.
Dr. Fruchtenbaum and other instructors have taught "The Life of the Messiah" course throughout the world. Dr. Fruchtenbaum himself was in SLC a few years ago and taught a weekend seminar at Calvary Chapel.
We are pleased to now offer this course at K2U. Part 1 taught during the Spring Semester, 2015 and Part 2 will be taught in the Fall.
College credit will be available through Chafer Theological Seminary (Course JS 801: Jewish Life of Christ) and - of course - at K2U :)
What you need:
Please bring a Bible to the class, as we will be researching the Old Testament extensively to help you understand the scriptures taught to the people to whom Jesus ministered.

1. Life of Messiah Student Manual:
This Student Manual is designed to accompany Arnold Fruchtenbaum's The Life of Messiah from a Jewish Perspective. This 267-page manual contains detailed homework comprised of observational questions for each paragraph in A.T. Robertson's "A Harmony of the Gospels" designed to help the student get prepared for what will be learned in the course.
2. Harmony of the Gospels:
The text of one, two, three, or four gospels, depending on how many describe each episode, is found on each page of the Harmony. The gospel text is arranged in columns, and material in each column is placed so as to be adjacent to similar material in other columns. The width of the columns varies in accordance with how many gospels record the events of each section.
1. An accompanying set of PowerPoint print-outs for note taking.
There is no need to print out the whole document at this time; this semester we will begin on page 15 (paragraph 28; John 1:35.)
Homework:
Homework from the Student Manual will be be optional, in preparation for the following week's class and can take up to two hours per week. Much of the material in the Student Manual will not be covered in class, so by doing the homework, you will gain a much deeper understanding of the subject matter.
Participants can join this course at anytime during the semester.
If you'd like to prepare for the first day of class, you can answer the questions on pages 23 and 24.
Note: This is the slide presentation of Dr. Fruchtenbaum's original class. K2U's class might not use all of these slides and might have additional ones.
2. If you want an actual printed copy of the Harmony of the Gospels - instead of a downloaded NASB version - you are welcome to purchase one in your favorite version of the Bible. THE JEWISH LIFE OF JESUS
I.A thematic study of the Life of Jesus the Messiah with a special emphasis on Jewish, Rabbinic and cultural backgrounds.This course will include all four gospels by the use of a harmony.
II. The Purpose of the Course
A. The student will become thoroughly familiar with the life of Jesus in general but with Jewish backgrounds of His life in particular.
B. The student will become familiar with the importance of a thematic approach of the life of Jesus in order to see how one incident within His life relates to another incident. This is important to fully comprehend why the gospels chose certain incidents and chose to report certain teachings and work of the life of Christ while ignoring many others.
C. The student will become familiar with the specific purpose of each individual gospel as well as how each gospel contributes to the overall life of Christ from a thematic approach.
